Frequently Asked Questions about Submitting a Bid

  • The form only allows me to select one file, how to I add more?

Underneath the Choose File button is a link that says “Add another file (up to a total of 5 files)”. When you click this link an additional Choose File button will appear. You may continue clicking this link up to five times to add additional files. If you have more than five files to upload, please zip all of the files into one file and upload this single file instead.

  • How many files may I upload simultaneously?

You may upload up to five files with your bid submission.

  • What file formats may I upload?

Most common file formats are accepted (DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PDF, TXT, ZIP, RAR, etc.). File types that can contain malware payloads are generally blocked. If you encounter difficulties uploading your file(s), please trying zipping them into one file and submitting, or contacting us via e-mail.

  • What is the maximum file size I may upload?

Each file you upload must be 15MB or less.

  • I selected “Choose File” and then selected my file, but I do not see the file. Is something wrong?

No, probably not. The Choose File button allows you to browse your computer for the file you wish to upload. Once you select the file, the dialog returns to the Submit Bid form, but does not show that a file has been attached. This behavior will be changed in future, but at the present time it is normal for you not to see that your file has been attached.
If you wish to check what file(s) has been selected for upload, click each “Choose File” button again. The resulting browse dialog will show you the name of the file you have selected. If you have not previously used a button to select a file, the file name in the dialog will be empty.

  • I get an error "please check file name". What do I do?

This error appears when the name(s) of the file(s) you are submitting contains characters that are reserved for system functions in some operating systems. For greatest interoperability across computer platforms, certain characters cannot be used in files submitted through the RFP form. Ideally your file name should consist only of letters, digits, the hyphen character (-), the underscore character (_). Characters to avoid in file names include:

! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) . , < > / ? \ | { } [ ] = + : ; ` ' " ~
