Global Best Practices

CLASP’s Global Best Practices program accelerates energy savings from appliance energy efficiency by identifying, comparing, and disseminating international best practice—and helping decision makers replicate these practices.

In collaboration with global experts, CLASP conducts research and develops tools to enable comparisons of appliance energy efficiency policies and inform policymakers about opportunities to raise the ambition of their national policies to maximize energy savings and CO2 emissions reductions. CLASP documents best practices on compliance of energy efficiency policies to safeguard the expected energy savings from appliance energy efficiency policies. CLASP facilitates global knowledge exchange and sharing through hosting an expansive digital library of technical studies and other resources covering a broad range of products, policy areas, and economies, and maintaining the world’s most exhaustive database of S&L policies across countries and regions.

Building on best practice and lessons learned, CLASP advances strategic collaboration among policymakers and other stakeholders through our role as advisor, facilitator, and technical supporter for international initiatives such as the Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Standard Information System (ESIS).
