    Switzerland has passed legislation that, as of 1 January 2003 made the application of EU compatible energy consumption labelling obligatory for distributors of the main electric househould appliances and lamps. The study looks at the impact on supply and attitude of producers and distributors, end-user demand, turn-over of efficient equipment and induced energy savings.

    Alignment of Efficiency Standards and Labeling Programs in South Asia

    This paper represents a case study in the development of energy efficiency standards and
    labeling (EES&L) in developing countries. We hope that it provides concrete examples of issues
    that can arise in countries that share some common goals but which have a diversity of energy
    and market scenarios and varying levels of institutional capacity related to efficiency policy.

    Roadmap for Harmonization of Energy Efficiency Standards in South Asia

    This report summarizes the outcome of these discussions, and it is also meant as a resource document facilitating steps toward development of EES&L programs in the region. A general introduction provides background for the discussions on harmonization, and it provides an outline of the strategy taken in organizing the meeting.
