CLASP Welcomes Nicole Kearney, Senior Associate for the SEAD Program

CLASP is happy to announce an addition to its DC office. On November 5, 2012, Nicole Kearney joined CLASP as a Senior Associate in support of CLASP’s role as Operating Agent for the support of CLASP’s role as Operating Agent for the Super-Efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative.
Prior to joining CLASP, Nicole spent three years working on national, European and international energy efficient product policies for the UK Government’s Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Nicole participated in negotiations with other EU Member States and the European Commission to develop and agree S&L regulations for a range of energy using products. She worked extensively on UK and EU market surveillance activities, specifically developing and coordinating a European-wide compliance project to facilitate and increase collaborative monitoring, verification and enforcement. Nicole has also represented the UK in several SEAD collaboration groups.
Prior to her work with Defra, Nicole gained experience working on energy efficiency of products at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy and Transport. Nicole holds a bachelor’s degree in European Law and a Research Masters in European Environmental Law, both from Warwick University in the UK. She is fluent in English, French and German.
