Poppy joined CLASP in 2023 after finishing her MSc in Climate Change, Development and Policy at The University of Sussex in 2022. While studying she took an interest in the development of UK energy policy and focused her dissertation on understanding how best the UK should evolve to overcome energy security and affordability challenges while still maintaining a net zero trajectory.

Prior to joining CLASP, Poppy worked for the UK’s biggest insurer of household appliances Domestic & General for almost seven years, specialising in customer service resolutions and quality assurance, and also spent time volunteering on development projects in Scotland and Nepal, as well as volunteering for local LGBTQ+ charities in Brighton.

Outside of work, she stays active by playing football, going to the gym, doing the occasional bit of rock climbing, and sea swimming when the British weather allows it. She also enjoys taking part in amateur queer drama classes in Brighton.
