Moumita is an energy professional with more than seven years of diverse experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and climate-change-related projects in India. Prior joining to CLASP, she worked with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd., Ministry of Power, on the execution and monitoring of Global Environment Facility Project (GEF-6) for “Creating & Sustaining Markets for Energy Efficiency,” funded by UNEP & ADB. She prepared the Strategic Plan for deployment of Clean Energy Solutions in South Asian Countries such as India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Maldives & Sri Lanka under the USAID-funded South Asian Regional Energy Program (SAREP).
She also drafted an Energy Action Plan for Assam State Designated Agency under BEE’s twelfth five-year plan on energy efficiency activities. She is adept in project management with multiple stakeholders, including government organizations, research organizations, industries, industry associations, technology suppliers, policy makers (i.e. BEE, UNEP, ADB, World Bank etc.), etc.
She holds a PGDM in Renewable Energy from TERI University and B. Tech in Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from WBUT. She is an ISO (ISO 50001, 14001 & 9001) Certified Auditor for Energy Management System, Environment Management System & Quality Management System.
Outside of work, she is a founding member of a non-profit organization that helps underprivileged people with education, health, and sustainable livelihoods, etc. She loves savory, fusion cooking and enjoys traveling and playing badminton.
