About the role: Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with extensive international accounting expertise to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the accounting operations across our offices in different countries, ensuring compliance with local financial regulations and standards. This role requires a deep understanding of international financial reporting, currency exchange, and cross-border transactions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the accounting functions of Clasp’s field offices’ subledgers maintained by local partner accounting firms.
  • Prepare the monthly General Ledger (GL) report for projects related to the Indonesia office; review the consolidated GL of the Indonesia office to ensure accuracy and reconcile with the HQ’s book.
  • Prepare monthly field office related payroll and tax JEs.
  • Coordinate and review financial statements prepared by local partners of accounting firms, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide support to the field offices’ annual audit, financial reporting, tax filing, and renewal of registration.
  • Host a quarterly check-in meeting with local partner accounting firms to address any outstanding issue, review deadline of any required financial report filing to ensure timely preparation and submission.
  • Collaborate with the European office director to complete the annual European Commission Transparency Registration.
  • Work with the payroll associate to prepare the year-end benefit accrual schedule.
  • Collaborate with HR to develop and maintain field office benefit documents.
  • Manage the full function of Accounts Receivable.
  • Work with program teams on proposal budgets and funder’s financial reports.
  • Prepare monthly cash flow projection reports in Vena.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and offices, including tax, legal, and operations, to address international accounting issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in international accounting regulations and standards.
  • Serve as a backup for other Senior Accountant’s functions, including month-end journal entry and funder financial reporting.
  • Provide assistance to other team members in resolving issues related to the field offices’ employees and vendors.
  • Other Assigned tasks.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance is required. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in an international accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of currency exchange, cross-border transactions, and international tax considerations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Intacc, Bill.com, Nexonia, and Vena is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Work language is English, Fluency in Chinese, French, or Portuguese is a plus.

Compensation and Location

CLASP offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience, including fully paid health insurance for individuals and their families/dependents, provident fund and includes a collegial office environment that supports wellness and flexible telecommuting options after a certain period of employment. The selected candidate is expected to work out of CLASP’s Indonesia office based in Jakarta. Early morning or evening hours are sometime necessary to accommodate international collaboration; some travel and weekend hours may also be required.
