CLASP is supporting government agencies and cooling stakeholders in Kenya as they develop a National Cooling Action Plan (NCAP), a comprehensive guide to the provision of access to sustainable cooling for all Kenyans. In August, the CLASP team hosted the first NCAP technical working group in Nairobi to establish the objectives and actions to be included in the Plan.

On July 16-18, the Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) hosted a solar e-waste festival in Nairobi, Kenya. CLASP joined our partners and industry experts to create new ideas, partnerships and projects to address the growing solar e-waste challenge in sub-Saharan Africa.

On 14 May, the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) programme held a launch event at Strathmore University in Nairobi, Kenya. The launch brought together key regional stakeholders to discuss potential opportunities to partner with the MECS program in East Africa.
Within the newly released 2018 Annual Report, we highlight the year’s 11 greatest milestones, innovations in technology and policy, CLASP’s impact on human welfare and the planet, while introducing the year’s newest donors and partners.
